AST SPORTLINE I - Sport-Line I are mono-tube high-pressure, coil-over dampers. Damping force on rebound and compression is adjustable in 12 positions. The units are adjustable to several heights. Sport-Line shocks are fully rebuildable. They guarantee a comfortable ride and are equipped with adjustable aluminium anodised spring seat. AST COMPETITION SUSPENSION - With over 35 years of motorsport experience, AST dampers ensure that you have the best baseline set up to start racing. The Raceline damper is constructed using only the best quality materials for increased performance and low friction attributes. The Raceline units are height adjustable with 3 way adjustment of the dampers, allowing changes to the low speed compression, high speed compression and the rebound circuits. The compression circuits are located on an externally mounted reservoir which allows an increased level of oil capacity and a very high nitrogen pressure to eliminate aerating. Each adjustment has 12 positions, thus allowing very fine tuning to help with handling characteristics such as pitch, dive, roll, balance and weather conditions. Each set comes with high quality topmounts where allowed, and a choice of spring rate. (Inverted struts are used where applicable). It is no coincidence that AST Raceline dampers are used in all types of motorsport by top teams, with great success. AST could be the difference between wining and losing, keeping you on the right track in any competition series from club racing to touring car. A bit of history behind AST Designed and built in Holland. 35 Years ago, Piet Kreeft started his career at Research & Development Department at a well-known shock absorber company. At that time they supplied shock absorbers to the automotive racing and other industries. After a short period in R&D, Piet specialized in suspension technology for sports and racing applications. Five days a week he worked on the development of shock absorbers, while his weekends were spent on sports and race tracks all over the world where he amassed a wealth of experience and information. He always maintained close contacts with the engineers and drivers of the cars and was able to test new developments in practice immediately. We can safely say that the shock absorbers purpose-built by Piet Kreeft helped many driver cross the finish line as the race winner. And among many famous names was Emmerson Fittipaldi in the Indycars in Indianapolis, USA. Then, Piet Kreeft decided to combine his extensive knowledge and experience with the specialist product know-how of the Smits Engineering Works of Valkenswaard, The Netherlands, leading to the creating of AST.
