When using this material with light inertia racing cars, as a general rule, it is necessary to apply less brake pedal pressure than you would normally expect. This will avoid over-braking and the generation of excessive heat in the braking system and discs. WARNING: DS3000 is NOT suitable for road use. Tested to the Limits DS3000 has been subjected to the most rigorous development procedures possible. At Federal-Mogul Technology, our world renowned dedicated research laboratories, many scientists and engineers have played a part in bringing you DS3000 brake pads. To meet the exacting demands of motor sport, hundreds of friction formulations have been developed and rejected. Only one , DS3000, has met with total approval, surviving arduous laboratory tests and extensive dynamometer programmes which simulate every conceivable performance requirement. DS3000 has been subjected to our own exacting test track procedures and then forwarded for approval by brake system and vehicle manufacturers and, most importantly competitors. We've worked closely with many of the world's leading drivers and analysed their evaluation reports. From their expert feedback we continued to develop and refine DS 3000 until it met their demanding requirements and guaranteed to provide winning performance in every extreme. Technically Superior DS3000 provides outstanding braking performance under all conditions. Unlike many materials, the performance characteristics of DS3000 provide predictable braking and pedal feel. From low speeds to high speeds, from a cold start to a scorching 750° C, DS3000 maintains a constant high co-efficient of friction (0.6) which guarantees exceptional fade resistance and consistent bite. This is critical. Every driver must be confident that whatever the speed or operating temperature, he will stop quickly and consistently every time the brakes are applied, and confident that braking performance is directly related to pedal pressure, without fade and without exception. Thermal Underlayer FERODO go one step further than the competition in the manufacturing process. All DS3000 brake pads are manufactured with a Thermal Underlayer, a barrier which keeps the heat where it should be. The underlayer also increases the mechanical link between the friction material and the backplate giving added strength to prevent 'edge lifting'. Bedding-in In comparison to many competitors' products, DS3000 requires a minimum amount of time for the pads to mate with the discs. DS3000 reaches maximum efficiency quickly and, even during the 'bedding-in' period, provides excellent braking performance.
